Pastors Introduction:
December ought to be a joyous time for Christians in which we celebrate the birth of the Lord when he took on flesh and dwelt among us. While no one knows the actual day or month, we choose to make it this month where we thank the Lord God for taking the form of a man. As Apostolics, it is even more precious to us since we recognize Jesus as the Mighty God in Christ. He was God at birth since Isaiah 9:6 speaks of that son that is born as the “Mighty God” and the “Everlasting Father.” Some question whether it was the 25th of December and therefore refrain from celebrating Christmas. Why would that date stop us from giving reverence and worship to our Lord on the 25th or any other day that we choose? When much of the World sees that day as attributed to his birth, why would we choose to avoid it? Let’s announce it to the world, that our Savior was born, died, and resurrected. He became the first of those resurrected (1 Cor. 15:20) and we shall follow Him. Without his birth, we would be lost and without hope. It was because he was born, that we have a way into the heavens. By becoming the perfect human sacrifice, Jesus opened the doors for all humanity to whomsoever believes (Jn. 3:16). So go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ was born!
